“We live our daily lives in a constant exchange with the set of daily appearances surrounding us – often they are very familiar, sometimes they are unexpected and new, but always they confirm us in our lives.” John Berger, Opening a Gate.

This piece was conceived in response to the Wing Assignment and was selected for the Threadneedle Prize 2013 at the Mall Galleries in Central London. Exploring the theme of protection – both the protection offered by and given to the buildings we inhabit – it consists of 16 identical models of a building each placed on a kitchen scale.
